Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Act

 
About the Presentation

This session will bring attendees up to speed on the implementation of the Medical Marijuana Act, which became law April 17, 2016. The speaker will provide a general overview of the act, which is in the process of being fully implemented by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and will discuss the Medical Marijuana Advisory Board Report.

Presenter Biography

The Secretary of Health for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the Penn State College of Medicine.

My previous posts included: Vice -Chair for Clinical Affairs for the Department of Pediatrics and Chief of the Division of Adolescent Medicine and Eating Disorders at the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital-Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

I graduated from Harvard College in 1979 and the Tulane University School of Medicine in 1983. I completed my training in Pediatrics at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City in 1987 and then did a Fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Mt. Sinai from 1987-88

John Collins, Director of PA Department of Health, Medical Marijuana
 
 

John Collins is currently the Director of the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Office of Medical Marijuana, and previously held positions as a public health program assistant administrator in the Department’s Division of HIV Disease, and as a Right-to-Know Law management analyst for the Department of Transportation. 

He is a certified allied health professional, holds an MBA with a concentration in marketing from Lindenwood University, and completed leadership training at the Wharton School, Aresty Institute of Executive Education, University of Pennsylvania.
