About the Presentation

Moving dirt is a common activity on many construction jobsites.  However, the dangers that this activity presents – if not managed or respected – can be catastrophic in terms of lives, livelihoods, property, and the wallet. 

This seminar will focus on excavation & trench safety and the OSHA regulations that govern it.  The information presented will help attendees to identify, evaluate, and manage many of the hazards faced while digging.

Presenter Biography

Craig Shaffer is a Certified Safety Professional with over 25 years of occupational safety & health experience in the construction and manufacturing industries.  He holds a Bachelors degree in Physics from Penn State, is an authorized instructor for the construction OSHA-10 & OSHA-30 classes, and instructs American Heart & Red Cross 1st aid/CPR/AED.

Craig is regularly involved in field personnel training, site safety pre-planning and inspections, construction OSHA-10/30 classes, written safety policy development, seminar presentations, and OSHA compliance consultation.
