About the Presentation

This presentation will provide an overview of Early Symptom Intervention techniques and strategies to help reduce musculoskeletal injuries in the workplace.  A discussion will focus on early pre-injury assessment and triage for the worker with regards to their complaints of musculoskeletal discomfort on the job.  Techniques to manage and mitigate musculoskeletal injuries through WorkRisk (job hazard) Analysis, WorkTask (ergonomic) Job Analysis, WorkStation (ergonomic office) Analysis, Injury Prevention Musculoskeletal Education and Transitional Return to Work Programs will be highlighted.

Presenter Biography

Tony Viggiano is currently the Vice President of WorkStrategies for Select Medical Outpatient Division.  Tony is responsible for the oversight and management of Select Medical’s WorkStrategies program that provides work injury prevention and management solutions for employers.  Select’s WorkStrategies program is designed to assist employers in the reduction of work related injuries, costs and claims.  Tony has been with Select Medical since 1988 in various roles from managing Physical Therapy centers, to Director of Training and Development and National Director of WorkStrategies.  Tony has worked with hundreds of companies, assisting them in reducing the rate of workplace injuries.  He participated in the clinical team that designed the current WorkStrategies product and has been leading the process of continually updating the program.


Dennis Ewedosh, Manager Occupational Health and Wellness, Consol Energy

Dennis is a graduate of California University of PA in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training.  Dennis has been instrumental in developing Occupational Health as it relates to injury prevention and managing long term liabilities.  He is presently working at Consol Energy as the Manager of Occupational & Wellness.  His daily focus is on all traumatic and musculoskeletal occupational injuries and diseases.  Dennis was previously employed by NovaCare Rehabilitation as a Workstrategies Coordinator.  He was involved in onsite employer based services for safety and injury prevention.
