About the Presentation

In this presentation, you will get a unique perspective of how construction activities are performed in an active healthcare facility in one the nation's largest metropolitan cities. The presenters, a Construction Manager representative and a Subcontractor representative, will describe their roles, the preplanning, coordination or work and the execution of the work.  You will also hear about how problems are handled when things don't go as planned.

Presenter Biography

Dona File worked 12 years as a union carpenter before being promoted to Corporate Safety Director in 1992.  Her career spans 30 years with the L. F. Driscoll Company. Dona is the Founder of the Mid-Atlantic Construction Safety Council and served as its first President from 1997-2007. Dona earned her undergraduate degree from Slippery Rock University and her Masters of Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.  Recently, Dona spearheaded a 30 hour training in Healthcare Construction for the LF Driscoll Healthcare Center of Excellence.  She is an ASHE Certified Healthcare Constructor.

Presenter Biography
Tom Scott, GSP has been with McClure Company for over 14 years developing safety programs, training employees, performing job site inspections and cultivating a safety culture alongside the people he works with.  He has performed safety inspections across the state of Pennsylvania at demolition, renovation and new construction projects.  The types of facilities he has been involved with are K-12, Higher Education, Healthcare, Industrial, Gas Field, Government, Pharmaceutical, Power and Commercial Buildings.  He has over 23 years of experience in construction safety.   He promotes planning safety in to every task to ensure that all workers go home safe at the end of every day.
