Ergonomics – Keeping the Worker on the Job
About the Presentation
This presentation will provide an understanding of ergonomics applications in the workplace to reduce and/or totally avoid work-related injuries and disorders.  The participant will learn how to recognize ergonomic risk factors and their effect on nerve related conditions, repetitive motion injuries, cumulative trauma disorders and over-use syndromes.  Ergonomic principles and best practices will be highlighted to focus on injury reduction and employee safety.

Presenter Biography

David Raptosh is a Regional Director of WorkStrategies® at Select Medical’s outpatient rehabilitation division (NovaCare Rehabilitation, Select Physical Therapy and Kessler Rehabilitation).  David is a graduate of Misericordia University and is a board certified, licensed Occupational Therapist.  He is also a graduate of St. Francis University with a Master of Human Resources Management/ Industrial Relations (MHRM/IR).  David is an expert witness, peer review/utilization review specialist, consultant to the employer and insurance industries and a human resource management consultant.  He is a certified instructor in employment testing, pre-work screening, functional capacity evaluation, injury prevention, onsite employer services, ergonomic injury prevention and job site analysis.  David is a faculty member with the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Pennsylvania Bureau of Labor and Industry – Workers’ Compensation Division, The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society Lifeguard® Program and the CEU Institute.
