About the Presentation

Benchmarking safety and wellness programs can be as easy as noting OSHA recordable rates and as complicated as calculating your Total Cost of Risk.  This workshop will review several methods to quantify your safety and wellness efforts. In addition, the workshop will help define how Wellness Programs can impact your Workers’ Compensation Costs, Return to Work Programs, and Experience Modification Factors.

Jeffrey L. Phillippi, ARM, ARM-P, ASP, CSP, Assistant Vice President - Risk Control - EHD
Presenter Biography

Jeff Phillippi has dedicated himself to helping companies with safety and risk management both before and after joining EHD in 1999. Jeff is passionate about OSHA compliance, employee safety training, accident investigation and supreme customer service. Prior to working at EHD, Jeff earned a degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management from Slippery Rock University and a Master’s in Safety Science from IUP. He also worked as a safety coordinator at Pine Instrument Company, as a Loss Control Engineer at the Rockwood Casualty Insurance Company and as a Risk Control Consultant at the PMA Insurance Group, all of which helped hone his exceptional knowledge base of all things risk-related. Outside of work, Jeff is an outdoorsman who loves hunting, fishing and camping in addition to spending time with his wife and two children.





Julie Evarts, Clinical Director of Health, Safety and Wellness, EHD  
Presenter Biography

Julie Evarts came to EHD in 2005 in the newly created position of Health Management Coordinator.  Before joining EHD, Julie worked as a Nurse Practitioner at Pennsylvania Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Hershey Medical center. Julie is directly involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of health & productivity initiatives aimed at improving the health status and healthcare consumer skills of both employees and dependents while reducing medical and lost time costs.  Recently, Julie’s role has expanded to encompass the creation and development of safety measures for many of our clients, hence, her title as Clinical Director of Health, Safety & Wellness. Julie is currently on the National Advisory Committee member for the Wellness Council of America; she is on the Committee for Health Center Advancement for the South East Lancaster Health Center. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and children.
