About the Presentation

OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) recognizes workplaces that have implemented effective safety and health management systems (SHMS).  This session will not only cover the elements that are needed to have an effective SHMS, but also the ways an employer can participate, the VPP audit process from application to team recommendation and finally a review of some recognized Best Practices as seen by the audit teams while conducting these assessments.

Presenter Biography

Graduate of Kutztown University, with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, with a concentration in Biology.

Started working for OSHA in 1986 and has been a Compliance Officer (Industrial Hygienist/Health Inspector), an Assistant Area Director (Health Supervisor) and is currently the Allentown Area Office’s Compliance Assistance Specialist.

Presenter Biography

Graduate of Penn State with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  Since 1977, has held various positions in government and the private sector including Compliance Officer, Manager of Safety and Industrial Hygiene in the steel and electronics industries, IH Lab Director, and Compliance Assistance Specialist.
